1. Who we are

“SMeter”, “we”, “our” or “us” refers to the SMeter online store at smeter.co.za. If you have questions, contact sales@smeter.co.za or write to 4 13th Avenue, Boston, Bellville, Cape Town, WC, 7530, South Africa. SMeter

2. Using our site

By browsing or buying from our site, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any other policies referenced here. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Services. (See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data and for the latest update date.) SMeter

3. Orders & payment

  • All orders are offers to buy products according to these Terms. We may accept or reject an order (e.g., for stock, pricing, or fraud-prevention reasons).

  • Prices are shown in ZAR and may change from time to time. You’ll see the final price at checkout before you pay.

  • Payment is processed by our providers (e.g., Shopify and payment gateways). Do not share your account credentials with anyone. SMeter

4. Shipping & delivery

  • Processing time: typically 1–3 business days after payment.

  • Delivery time: typically 2–5 business days nationwide (longer for outlying areas).

  • You’ll receive tracking details once dispatched.

  • Delays can occur due to events beyond our control (e.g., strikes, weather, courier backlogs).

5. Returns, refunds & defects

  • Change-of-mind returns: You may return eligible items within 7 days of receipt; a minimum 10% handling fee may apply.

  • Defects: If a product is faulty within 6 months of purchase, we’ll repair, replace, or refund in line with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA).

  • Non-returnable: Items that have been installed, tampered with, or damaged due to incorrect use.

  • Refund timing: Approved refunds are made to the original payment method, usually within 7–10 business days.

  • Return shipping: We cover courier costs for wrong/defective items we supplied; otherwise, you cover return shipping.

6. Installation & use

Many products require professional installation. Damage arising from incorrect installation or misuse is not covered under our return terms or warranty remedies. Please follow manufacturer instructions and use qualified installers. SMeter

7. Privacy

Your personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy (including cookies/analytics, fraud prevention, rights requests, and international transfers). Please review it for details and contact options. SMeter

8. Intellectual property

All content on the site (text, images, logos, and listings) is owned by SMeter or our licensors and may not be used without permission.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses; and our total liability related to any order won’t exceed the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under the CPA.

10. Prohibited activities

Don’t misuse the site (e.g., attempt to bypass security, scrape content, or interfere with operations). We may suspend or restrict access if we suspect abuse or fraud. SMeter

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. When we do, we’ll post the new version on this page and update the effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. (Similarly, we may update our other policies from time to time.) SMeter

12. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Disputes should first be raised with us in writing. If we can’t resolve a dispute informally, you may pursue your rights in a competent South African court.
